Where is your office located?
I work 100% online through secure telehealth, so you can meet with me from anywhere in California. There is no commute, traffic, or waiting rooms – just therapy from the comfort of your home, office, or even a parked car.
What are your hours?
I see clients during regular weekday hours, with some flexibility for professionals balancing demanding schedules. We’ll work together to find a time that fits your life.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes. Occasionally, clients request longer sessions if we need more time to explore something important more deeply.
What is your fee?
My fee is $200 per 1-hour session.
Do you take insurance directly? Why or why not?
I don’t bill insurance directly because it often limits the quality and flexibility of therapy. Working outside of insurance gives you more privacy, choice, and control over your care.
How do I set up an initial appointment?
The easiest way is to complete the form below. You can request a consultation to ensure we’re a good fit before moving forward.
What is your cancellation policy?
I get it that life happens. If you’re not part of my concierge-therapy services plan, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. The full session fee will apply if it’s less than 24 hours.
What is your professional training and experience?
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California (CA #120497) with over a decade of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and significant life transitions. I’ve worked in community mental health, crisis stabilization, foster care, and adoption services, and I now run my own private practice providing telehealth therapy statewide.
Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working with veterans at the Veterans Home of Barstow, California, an experience I truly valued because it deepened my respect for resilience and service.
I also volunteer as a therapist for foster youth with A Home Within. Earlier in my career, I worked as an international banker, which gave me a unique perspective on the stress and pressures professionals face worldwide.
What age ranges do you work with?
I primarily work with adults of all ages, from their 20s through their 60s and beyond. I also see parents of teens and sometimes teens directly, depending on the situation.
Do you work with women? Men? Couples?
I work with adults of all genders and life experiences. Currently, I do not see couples. Instead, I focus only on individual therapy.
What do you actually do in sessions?
Therapy with me combines conversation, practical tools, and deeper exploration. Some sessions focus on providing you with strategies you can apply immediately; others aim to explore patterns, relationships, or past experiences so they no longer hinder you.
One client said, “Therapy with Eric feels like a partnership, not a lecture.”
Do your clients receive assignments between sessions?
Sometimes, yes. Basically, I ask that you make observations. I may suggest jotting or journaling, mindfulness exercises, or reading, but I’ll never overload you. Think of these as invitations to keep the work alive between sessions.
What modalities do you use?
I integrate elements of CBT, ACT, DBT, and Psychodynamic therapies. I’m also skilled in various modalities, including Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Dream Analysis, EMDR, and other ‘stuff.’ In simple terms, I blend practical coping skills with a deeper look at patterns and meaning. I’ve found that combining both creates lasting change.
How can therapy help me?
Therapy can help you:
- Understand yourself, your goals, and your values more clearly
- Improve your relationships and communication
- Find new ways to manage stress, anxiety, grief, and anger
- Heal old wounds and change unhelpful patterns
- Boost confidence and self-esteem
- Build healthier habits and boundaries
- Feel lighter, calmer, and more in control of your life
Do I really need therapy? I can usually handle my problems.
Everyone faces challenges; yes, you’ve likely handled many independently. But sometimes support makes all the difference. Seeking therapy doesn’t mean you’re weak; you’re self-aware enough to want things to change. That’s a strength.
Why do people go to therapy, and how do I know if it’s right for me?
People come to therapy for many reasons: life transitions, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, trauma, creative blocks, or simply wanting to grow. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for change, therapy can help.
What is therapy like?
Each session is unique, but you can expect an open conversation, space to reflect, and practical steps to take that can be incorporated into your daily life. Some people work with me on a short-term basis for a specific issue; others stay longer to explore deeper patterns and make lasting changes.
What about medication vs. psychotherapy?
Medication can be helpful, but therapy addresses the root causes and patterns behind symptoms. Many clients benefit from both. I work in collaboration with your doctor if needed, but treatment with me is focused on long-term growth and healing.
What if I’m in crisis or struggling with suicidal thoughts?
My practice is not set up for crisis management. If you are in crisis or thinking of harming yourself or someone else, please call 988 – the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It’s free, confidential, and available 24/7 by call, text, or chat. If it’s an immediate emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Once things are more stable, therapy with me can help you build tools for long-term healing and resilience.
Do I have to talk about my dreams?
Nope, not unless you want to. Some people love digging into dreams; others find it unhelpful. We’ll focus on what matters most to you.
What brand of tissue do you use?
At home, whatever’s on sale. In session, since we’re online – you get to pick your favorite box!
Cats or dogs?
I love both, but dogs probably win by a nose.
Music or silence?
Music. I’m a musician; sometimes it becomes part of therapy when words don’t feel like enough. But I’m also a fan of silence, too!
What surprises clients most about working with you?
That therapy feels less clinical and more real than they expected. Clients often say it feels like talking to someone who “gets it” and is genuinely invested in their well-being.
One client said,“It feels like concierge-level care – responsive, reliable, and worth every penny.”
